Attachment Styles and Emotional Patterns in Columbus, Ohio
Online and In-Person Treatment for Attachment Styles and Emotional Patterns
Attachment theory shows how our early bonds with parents and caregivers shape our relationships today. Your default attachment style was formed in childhood well before you could remember. It has continued to develop throughout your life as a result of relationships, trauma and major life events but it doesn’t have to be your default attachment style forever.
We often choose partners based on the attachment style we are most familiar with from childhood. This can be a good fit, initially. Throughout your relationships you may notice patterns of conflict and resolution (or lack thereof) and it starts to get frustrating to say the least. Good news, attachment styles can shift and change through awareness, reflection and communication. I treat different Attachment Styles through Attachment-Based Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
